police seminar to combat illegal tuning: joint use at the Nürburgring

Last weekend a seminar took place for the sixth time at the Nürburgring that informed police officers from the Koblenz police headquarters about illegal vehicle modifications. The goal was to convey the theoretical foundations on this complex topic and then implement them in practical traffic controls.

results of the traffic controls

In the controls, the focus was on technical changes in vehicles. A total of 87 cars were checked, with illegal modifications to be found in 50 of them. With 37 vehicles, the operating license had expired due to these changes. In addition, not proper changes were discovered in 13 vehicles with foreign approval. In any case, the police initiated corresponding administrative offense procedures, with some defects could be remedied on site.

Furthermore, two vehicles were secured, and in six cases there was suspicion of forgery of documents, which was pursued by criminal law. Several criminal complaints were drawn up for violations of various laws, including the compulsory insurance law, the motor vehicle tax law and the fraud.

Exchange of experiences and training

The seminar was accompanied by employees of the central fine, which is responsible for the punishment of administrative offenses. The exchange of experiences between the employees and the police officers of the police headquarters was an important part of the seminar. A total of 35 people took part in the training.

The police are planning to continue to train their strength against illegal tuning and announce further joint control campaigns to ensure that the streets remain safe. red
