traffic accident on the B9: collision with wild boar rotting

An unfortunate incident occurred yesterday on federal road 9 near Weißenthurm. A 63-year-old woman from Andernach was on the way from Koblenz towards Andernach when a rotting wild boar suddenly crossed the street.

The Rotte consisting of a mother's sow and over a dozen freshlings crossed the road shortly before the Andernach-Miesenheim departure. Unfortunately, the driver could not brake in time and collided with the animals. The impact led to the death of fourteen freshlings, while the driver was unharmed. However, your vehicle was badly damaged in the front area.

In order to mount the torn animals and clean the road, the right lane of the B9 in the direction of Andernach had to be closed for about 45 minutes. The person entitled to hunting then took care of the killed wild boars.

The incident once again shows the dangers of game changes on our streets. It is important to always drive carefully and to expect wild changes, especially in forested areas.

The Andernach police asks witnesses or people who have further information about the incident to report to the Andernach police inspection.
