Wine market on the Neumarkt: Enjoyment for wine lovers from August 1st

The Rhenish metropolis of Cologne invites you to the annual wine market on the Neumarkt from August 1 for eleven days. Wine lovers have the opportunity to discover the variety of 21 German wineries. In addition to a wide selection of white, red and rose wines, sparkling wine and grape juice are also presented.

Culinary specialties also expect visitors

The wineries from different regions of Germany not only bring their fine drops with them, but also a culinary diversity. Visitors can look forward to South Tyrolean meat and cheese specialties, tarte flambée and grilled food.

The wine market is organized by the Duisburg showman Joseph Nieke, who already has experience in the implementation of such events. Press spokesman Andreas Klein emphasizes that the wine market in Cologne is a premiere, but there is a five-year contract with the option for extension.

Inquiries from other European countries for the future

In contrast to the previous wine week on the Neumarkt, the upcoming wine market differs from its conception. In addition to German wines, wines from neighboring European countries are also presented. Inquiries from Austria, Hungary and Switzerland are already available for the next year.

A special highlight awaits visitors on August 10, when the carnivalists from the Rhineland meet from 12 noon to 10 p.m. for the carnivalist regulars' table on the wine market. Various companies, including delegations from Aachen and the Netherlands, have already promised participation.

The wine market on Neumarkt is open Monday to Friday from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. At the weekend, visitors can visit the market from 12 noon to 10 p.m. On August 11, the gates of the wine market close at 7 p.m. Admission is free. (lem)
