Cable thieves in Hürth: Police are looking for witnesses for refugee perpetrators!
In a spectacular incident in Hürth-Efferen on Monday evening, October 21, the police observed several men who presumably loaded copper cables in van. The perpetrators, appreciated between 15 and 25 years old and sporty, noticed the police and fled immediately. Three men ran across Luxemburger Straße in the direction of Cologne, while at least one other one escaped in the opposite direction.
The officials found two vans in which numerous cables and a drill were discovered during tracking. A service dog helped to search for traces and found two baseball caps near the crime scene. The police ensured the cables and the vans and initiated criminal proceedings. The criminal commissioner 23 is now looking for witnesses who can make information about the fleeting perpetrators or suspicious observations.
