Fascination surgery: from Neanderthals to modern surgery technology!
In an exciting lecture entitled "The History of Surgery", Dr. Nicola Jansen, chief physician for trauma surgery and orthopedics at the Asklepios Clinic in the city triangle, will perform in the Upper Palatinate Folklore Museum on Thursday, October 10, at 7 p.m. The lecture is part of the special exhibition "G's. For only one euro entry, visitors can learn from the beginnings of surgery at the Neanderthals to the techniques of old Egyptians to modern surgery in the 19th century when ether anesthesia was discovered.
In addition, a historical exhibition of surgical instruments is made visible, including an amputation cutlery from the 1920/1930s, which also contains a bone saw that was used in medical interventions. This lecture promises both an educational and entertaining insight into the development of surgery, supplemented by personal stories from the operating room.
