Kirmes in Krefeld: Police checked 725 people - security balance draws positive balance!
At the autumn fair on the Sprödentalplatz in Krefeld, the police took a largely positive balance. A total of 725 people were checked under the direction of police president Ursula Mecklenbrauck. With these checks, the officers found two knives, a telescopic stroke and a pepper spray that were secured. In addition, 16 people were released, while eight criminal complaints and eight administrative offense were admitted. The police also had to intervene three times in physical clashes.
As part of a new operational concept, which included support from the riot police and the federal police, the emergency services were satisfied with the calm course of the fun fair. The strategic search has contributed to ensuring security during the event, and the Krefeld police are optimistic about the future of such events.
