Krefeld celebrates the new logistics center for disaster protection!
After a construction period of around 20 months, the DRK district association Krefeld opened its new logistics center for disaster protection in the industrial area on October 9. The modern center not only offers a large vehicle hall with seven goals, but also a two -storey administration building with training rooms, changing rooms and a kitchen. "The construction work went according to schedule and the external impact is impressive," said architect Martin Sulke.
The new center, which was built on a 4,200 m² property, is intended to significantly improve the working conditions for the volunteer and full -time staff of the DRK. A highlight is an exercise area for the rescue dog squadron. Mayor Frank Meyer emphasized how important this facility is for the comprehensive disaster prevention in Krefeld, especially in view of the increasing risks of climate change. The total costs of the project amount to around 4 million euros, which were successfully met, as well as localklick.eu reported.
