At the Krefeld wholesale market, exciting changes are imminent! The central building management has completed numerous new rental contracts for gastronomic highlights, including a French brasserie, a Spanish restaurant and a tapas bar. "The wholesale market is an important place for the Krefeld, and we want to increase its attractiveness," said Rachid Jaghou, head of the ZGM. Among other things, a fresh fish business will return, while a former Asia market will offer an exciting mix of retail and Vietnamese gastronomy.
The comprehensive renovation of the site is progressing at the same time, which will cost 5.3 million euros. The most important measures are the renewal of the gas and water pipes as well as the sewer. A new underground rainwater retention system is also installed. This work takes place in close consultation with the tenants in order to disturb the ongoing operation as little as possible. The construction work should be completed by the end of 2025 to create a modern, inviting leisure and meeting center that will enrich city life in Krefeld.
