CSV and DP: A new era of cooperation in sight

Since the last parliamentary meeting in Luxembourg, the government is still in working mode. According to CSV parliamentary group leader Marc Spautz, Finance Minister Gilles Roth will inform about planned tax reforms for 2025 next Wednesday, especially with regard to tax class 1a. In addition, Minister of Justice Elisabeth Margue will make adjustments to the Criminal Code as part of the "Heescherten".

In terms of pension cuts, Spautz announced that so far there is no information about such measures on the part of the government. He took this opportunity to point out the increased risk of poverty in recent years and emphasized the need to combat this development. Family Minister Max Hahn (DP) also plans to present a national action plan to combat poverty.

The CSV criticizes the previous government for the announcement, but lack of implementation of projects in the area of logement, such as the building land contract, property tax reform and speculation tax. In contrast, Spautz emphasizes his party's commitment to implement projects that have already been announced.

In addition, Spautz noted that the previous government failed to make adjustments to the tax table. The CSV, on the other hand, is committed to continuous delivery of announced measures. Criticism is also aimed at the LSAP for the lower number of hospital beds despite the growing population and an alarming lack of staff in the health sector. The CSV is planning a campaign to win more young people for professions in healthcare.
