Pilgrimage to the Festival Mariä birth: a sign of God's love

A spiritual festival of a special kind experienced believers in Marienweiher on Saturday evening! Hundreds of pilgrims gathered, with hearts full of hope and a deep longing to get closer to God. The solemn high office, led by Pastor Hans Roppelt and his brothers Father Benedykt and Father Florian, opened the gates to a community of faith.

The pilgrimage flows from Uetzing and Roth flowed together, while the parish of Hohenberg also broke up to Marienweiher with its own petition. It was an impressive picture of the gathering that underlined the importance of this pilgrimage in the hearts of everyone present.

A look back on the tradition

In his rousing sermon, Roppelt recalled his own first pilgrimage as a pastor from Marktschorgast to Marienweiher. His lively quote "The mother visits her daughter!" gave the deep roots of this relationship between the communities. Marketership, the former mother parish, thus establishes the connection that thrives through the love and adoration of Mary.

But what does the reality look like? "The children like to look for their dear mother's consolation," said Roppel, while the father often seems strict and distant. A shocking popular belief, shaped by fear and discomfort, left many people in the dark. How often did you hear the sentence: "There is an eye on what sees" - an urgent remark about a monitoring image of God. But here the veneration of Mary comes into play: it enables believers to recognize the deeply rooted love of God through the gentle intercession of Mary.

"Through Maria, people often find back to God," stated Roppel. Whether family turbulence, financial bottlenecks or professional stress - many believed that they had been left by God in need. But the Blessed Mother, as a advocate, remains her last hope. "In order to feel the love of God again and again, Maria can help everyone," summarized the pastor.

and how? Through prayer! Be it on a altar in the domestic churches or on a pilgrimage that rejects faith. The pilgrims, determined to enrich their souls, know about the power of prayer.

After the moving service, the joy was great when Father Benedykt honored four loyal pilgrims from Uetzing. Monika Gehringer, for example, celebrated her 25th pilgrimage - an impressive testimony of her dedication! Martina Weidner, who took part in the 20th time, was also duly recognized, while Johanna Weidner and Jakob Weis were able to look back proudly on their tenth pilgrimage. A real festival of faith that touched the hearts of all and strengthened the connection to the divine power.
