Memorial event for victims of the Hamas attack: one year after the terrible massacre
On the occasion of the first anniversary of the devastating attack by Hamas on Israel, the district office Pankow invites you to a public memorial event entitled "One year October 7, 2023 - commemorate, commemorate, come together". The event will take place on Sunday, October 6, 2024, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the auditorium of the cultural and education center Sebastian Haffner in Prenzlauer Allee 227/228, 10405 Berlin.
Among other things, Dr. Cordelia Koch, the district mayor of Pankow, the writer Lea Streisand, and Dr. Dr. H.C. Hermann Simon, the founding director of the Neue Synagoge Foundation - Center Judaicum. The musical accompaniment is carried out by the band Folkadu. Admission is free, but registration is recommended at monika.flores@ba-pankow.berlin.de.
The event is to commemorate the terrible events of the Hamas massacre, in which 1,200 people were killed in Israel on October 7, 2023 and 240 people were dragged into the Gaza strips. This attack left a deep turning point for the Jewish community in Pankow, shaped by traumatization, fear and constant threat.
The memorial event is organized by the district office Pankow, the district anti-Semitism and anti-discrimination officer in cooperation with the Museum Pankow as part of the museum Sunday. Let us commemorate the victim together and set a sign against any form of anti -Semitism and discrimination.
