Hannah Höch: an evening full of art and feminist discourse!

On Thursday, December 12, 2024, the Museum Reinickendorf will dedicate a thematic evening to the work of the renowned artist Hannah Höch at 6 p.m. Under the title "Lebensbild", the art historians Friederike Proksch and Claudia Wasow-Kania will shed light on the visual "autobiography" in a dialogical image viewing approach. The collage, which was created in 1972/73, has a special place in artistic work with the dimensions of 1.30 × 1.50 meters and combines various narrative strands into a visually told life story. Admission to the event is free of charge, but registration is recommended, such as the Malen-nerne.

Höch combined personal experiences with social issues in their works and created an urgent portrait of their time. Her photo montages were not only for self -reflection, but also on political statements that addressed topics such as androgyning and the exposure of gender roles. This direct influence and its unconventional view make your art relevant and inspiring to this day. The upcoming event in the Reinickendorf Museum is not only a tribute to your creative heritage, but also an invitation to deal intensively with the challenges and achievements of the women's movement.
