an interactive theater experience as part of the cultural summer 2024

The cultural summer 2024 in the city of Bergisch Gladbach promises an innovative and rousing theater experience: "We are Faust!" on August 15, 2024 will be performed on the historic Zander site, on the Gohrsmühle 25. With this production, not only the classic theater performance is reinterpreted, but also the peculiarity of the interactive inclusion of viewers is implemented.

The piece "We are fist!" is presented unconventively - the spectators actively slip into the role of the protagonist Faust. With this extraordinary approach, the audience moves between different stations of the Zanders area, where the story is unfolded. This not only promotes participation, but also questions basic ethical questions such as responsibility and decisions. The viewers decide which story of action they want to follow - either from Mephista or St. Michael - and thus experience a personal and joint discussion with the topics of life.

The cultural summer 2024 is a continuation of the successful funding program "Cultural Summer 2021", which was supported by the federal cultural foundation. The city of Bergisch Gladbach has set itself the task of offering cultural events for the community. "We are Faust!" represents a highlight as part of this festival and reflects the cultural diversity and cohesion of the regions of Rheinisch-Bergischer Kreis and Oberbergischer Kreis.

Invitation to participate

The free event begins at 5:30 p.m., admission is from 5 p.m. Spectators are asked to bring weather -appropriate clothing and suitable footwear with you because the event takes place outdoors. Unfortunately, there are only a limited wheelchair.

The staging is realized by Landblattgold, a network of artists from the region. Heike Bänsch and Kai Mönnich take over the direction, while the stage design is designed by Michael WittSsek. Talented actors such as Kristin Kunze and Lea Wagener as well as committed volunteers from the community are on the stage.
