Reading summer 2023: Small bookworms collect stamps and prices
reading summer promotes reading of reading in the Kusel region
The Kuseler district and city library has actively participated in a special initiative to promote reading pleasure among the little ones this summer. Until September 1st, children from daycare centers can take part in the reading summer, which is part of the nationwide campaign "Reading Pass from the Library". This initiative is coordinated by the State Library Center Rhineland-Palatinate and aims to strengthen reading skills and the joy of reading in early childhood.
conditions of participation and rewards
Participation in the reading summer requires registration in the Kuseler library. Every child who gets books presents receives a stamp on his reading summer club card for every book read. From three collected stamps and submitting a picture to the favorite book, a certificate is presented to the little readers. This little recognition should also motivate the children.
competition and prices
In addition to the certificate, the children can take part in a nationwide competition with their club card. The attractive prices include a children's bike as the main prize as well as other gifts such as a Lego set, a tonie box and various games as well as book vouchers. This not only creates incentives to participate, but also inspires the families who visit the library.
meaning for the community
Such actions are particularly important for the local community and help to establish a reading culture. Reading ownership and early reading help in the development of linguistic skills and promote creativity. The Kuseler library not only acts as a knowledge agent, but also as a social meeting point for families and children in the region. The commitment of the library shows how valuable education and community activities are in everyday life.
