Enerix Mittelhessen: exemplary integration of employees with impairment

A company from Herborn sets a strong sign of the inclusion of people with impairments and shows how jobs can be individually adapted. Steffen Zeh, Managing Director of Enerix Mittelhessen, not only implemented innovative solutions in his company, but also gave people with special needs to work as equivalent employees.

"Maria runner first met as a customer when she bought a PV system from us. Her open and authentic manner spoke to me and led me to examine the concept of job carving in more detail," reports Zeh. JobCarving means designing jobs in such a way that they meet the skills and needs of people with impairments. Through these adjustments, Maria Runner was successfully integrated into the team and is now responsible for sales and field service - a valuable role in a small but dynamic company.

mastering challenges

In July 2024, 761 people were unemployed in the Lahn-Dill district, which makes 9.1 percent of the total working unpotes in the region. District Administrator Wolfgang Schuster emphasizes the importance of inclusion for companies and society. "They give people an opportunity and thus fulfill a role model function for other companies," he explains. In times of work and skilled workers, the call to integrate all those underutilized into the labor market is particularly relevant.

Steffen Zeh proved to be a pioneer by deliberately employing an employee with impairment. "Mary runner brings the best prerequisites for the sales area. They meet our customers honestly and authentically, and that is very appreciated," explains Zeh. The continuous promotion of his employees, for example through training, is a matter of course and essential for him for the company's success. Thanks to the available funds to promote the employment of people with impairment, many small companies manage to enable such responsible steps.

The mayor of Herborn, Katja Gronau, is impressed by the efforts of enerix Mittelhessen. "The integration of people with impairments brings challenges, but their commitment is particularly important," she noticed when the title "Participation of the month" was awarded. This award is awarded to companies that actively work for inclusion.

award for special services

The title "Partial HababeChampion of the Month" is awarded by various institutions in the Lahn-Dill district, including the uniform point of view for companies and the Wiesbaden Chamber of Crafts. He recognizes companies that make a special way to integrate people with impairments. Suggestions for future champions can be sent to his contact point at parthabechampion@Lahn-Dill-Kreis.de.

By examples like Enerix Mittelhessen, it becomes clear that inclusion in the world of work is not only possible, but also enriching for everyone involved. The upcoming challenges are only mastered by broad acceptance and integration of all workers. In the Lahn-Dill district, an important sign is set that could also inspire other companies to go similar paths to create diversified and including jobs.
