Shock in Gießen: injured after a devastating apartment fire!

In the early morning hour there was a dramatic apartment fire in Gießen, which called on the scene numerous rescue workers. Around 5:15 a.m., a fire on the third floor of a residential building was reported on Alfred-Bock-Straße. When the fire brigade arrived, thick smoke from the apartment, and several residents had to be brought to safety immediately. The ambulance service examined the situation on site and found that an 83-year-old resident had suffered serious injuries and also inhaled a policewoman who helps with the evacuation. Both were taken to hospital for treatment.

The fire has made five apartments uninhabitable, the evacuated residents were housed in hotels. The preliminary damage is estimated at around 200,000 euros. The criminal police have started the investigation and are urgently looking for witnesses who have made suspicious observations.
