dr. Heiner Buschmann, Chairman of the Wallheckenlands protection community, makes it clear: "No development of the wall hedges!" In a passionate call, the 68-year-old general practitioner warns of the catastrophic consequences of a planned building area in the Wallheckenlandschaft, which he describes as the "great loss of nature, climate and tourism". The association, founded in 2000 and today with 500 members, has set itself the task of preserving this unique landscape and will do everything possible to prevent the comprehensive destruction through over -planning.

Buschmann remembers the beginnings of his initiative almost 25 years ago when they were able to successfully stop a construction project in the Wallhecken landscape. "The awareness of the value of the wall hedges has increased," he says and emphasizes that the legal protective measures have existed since 1935, but have not been sufficiently implemented. While he is committed to sustainable children in his new environmental center, he calls up to actively participate in the plant actions and care inserts in the area of the wall hedges.
