Unjust inflation bonus: pensioners go away empty -handed while officials collect!
Unjust inflation bonus: pensioners go away empty -handed while officials collect!
Frankfurt, Deutschland - The Federal Government introduced the inflation premium in October 2022 to relieve employees. By the end of 2024, retired civil servants should now benefit from this measure, but not all pensioners receive the full sum of up to 3000 euros. The amount depends on the retirement content and a share. It is particularly worrying that many non-civil servants are not entitled to this payment at all.
The situation is critical of increasing living costs and continuing inflation. Over 40 percent of pensioners in Germany live of less than 1,250 euros per month, as a survey by the Federal Statistical Office shows. The social association VDK is fighting for pensioners to receive the same inflation bonus as pensioners. However, a petition on this topic has so far remained undecided and is still waiting for a decision. Chancellor Olaf Scholz has already pointed out that a nationwide inflation compensation payment for pensioners could cost the federal government 63 million euros. In the future, it could be even more precarious for many pensioners in Germany; Studies show that pension increases are often under inflation.
