Leipzig Opera Ball 2024: Everything about appointment, celebrities and dress code!

On November 8, 2024, the Leipzig opera ball will take place on a Friday for the first time! A historical step, because the ball is usually on Saturdays. The appointment was changed because of the historic date, November 9th. Over 2000 guests are expected in the Gewandhaus, where the Leipzig Opera House, together with the Gewandhaus Orchestra, opened the first waltz rounds. This year the ball is under the motto "Great! Britain", inspired by the twin town of Birmingham. Visitors can look forward to an exhibition by photographer Andrew Roberts and culinary British accents in the menu.

The dress code "Black Tie" demands a tuxedo or tailcoat from men and a floor -length evening dress from women. Ticket prices vary between 274 euros for stroll cards and up to 977 euros for table cards. These enable a seat during the event, while strollers get access to the ballroom from 9 p.m. Malte Arkona, known from the Leipzig summer event "Classical Airleben", takes over the moderation.
