Lok Leipzig celebrates 2-0 Derby victory: Chemistry under pressure!
FC Lok Leipzig secured a clear 2-0 victory against BSG Chemistry on Saturday in the 112nd Leipzig Derby and thus reciprocated for the defeat in May. With this victory, the team of coach Jochen Seitz remains undefeated and increases his lead in the Regionalliga Nordost to seven points ahead of the pursuer Jena. The stadium was sold out with 10,503 fans, who in particular celebrated Stefan Maderer, who took the lead after 24 minutes. He converted a well -timed pass from 16 meters into the left corner and achieved his sixth goal of the season.
However, the game took a heated turn when there were tensions between fans and players. Pyrotechnics were thrown out of the chemical block, and a firecracker flew from the dam of Lok, which led to an interruption of the referee. Despite the offensive pressure of chemistry and several opportunities, locomotive keeper Andreas Naumann bravely kept and made sure that no goal was scored. Pasqual Verkamp scored the 2-0 in the 51st minute. After the tension-charged encounter, the locomotive fans cheered loudly: "Derby winner, derby winner, Hey, Hey."
