Wet, but happy: Lindauer Seedernschweieren delights despite the rain

This year's Lindauer Seed extension is remembered, not only because of the outstanding performance of the participants, but also because of the exceptionally weather. With the strongest rain that the event has ever experienced, 200 participants celebrated the finish in spite of adverse conditions. Their bright faces, despite the soaked clothes, are an impressive sign of determination and team spirit.

A premiere for everyone

The event celebrated its twentieth edition with a special premiere: For the first time, a participant in a wheelchair was allowed to take part in the sea extension. Evelyn Mauch from Leutkirch, which is paraplegic due to an accident, convinced the organizers of their participation. She enthusiastically described how she feels completely free in the water. This inclusion illustrates how important it is to include all people, regardless of physical restrictions, in sport.

Delays and challenges due to the weather

Despite the cloudy weather forecast and heavy rains, the organizers postpone the original start time from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. A brave step to meet the competitive conditions and to ensure the security of the swimmers. The participants patiently accepted the delay because they respected the decision of the security officers, which shows the strong community spirit of the event.

The challenges on the way to the destination

Despite the mixed weather, the mood for the participants was optimistic. Ron Epple, the winner of the event, was in close competition with Franziska Kolb and Felix Odau. With his experience and knowledge of the conditions from the previous year, Eple impressed the race to win the race for himself. This gripping finish underlines the importance of competitions because they require both skill and mental strength.

Community spirit and organization

The organization behind the Lindauer Seedernschlag was praised by many participants. The participation of various aid organizations such as the water guard and fire brigade ensured a safe event, although the weather did not play along. Even the long waiting time in the Danube Eichwaldbad was considered necessary to guarantee safe and smooth implementation. The positive feedback shows how important good organization and support are for the success of such an event.

Outlook for future competitions

Whether Evelyn Mauch will take part in the next marine crossing is still in the stars. However, her enthusiasm and the good memories suggest that she could be there again. Ron Epple also plans a return, and Franziska Kolb announced that he will be at the start next time. This anticipation shows that the Lindauer crossing the sea is not only a one -time event, but has become an integral part of regional sports culture.
