Hydrogen roadmap 2.0: Emscher-Lippe on the way to climate neutrality!

The Emscher-Lippe region is at the top of the hydrogen revolution! Three years after the introduction of your hydrogen roadmap, this is now being reissued to promote the domestic economy and make a significant contribution to climate protection. "Hydrogen opens up great opportunities for us," said District Administrator Bodo Klimpel, and progress speak for themselves: Over 100 projects are now in the pipeline, including emission-free fuel cell buses and innovative H2 waste management.

in Marl operates Air Liquide the largest hydrogen filling center in Europe and supplies the chemical industry in several cities. More than 60,000 tons of hydrogen are currently being produced annually in the region, with a forecast of up to 83,000 tons by 2032 - a quarter by electrolysers will be generated in the future. Part of the hydrogen is imported in order to cover the increasing need of approx. 200,000 tons. The expansion of the hydrogen infrastructure will make Dorsten the central hub of the new hydrogen network. The Emscher-Lippe region not only becomes a pioneer in the field of hydrogen production, but also an innovator for a climate-neutral future. Further details offer reports at www.lokalkompass.de .
