Serious accident on the A81: Toyota driver trapped after collision with a tractor

In the early morning of 04.07.2024, a serious rear -end collision occurred on the federal highway 81 in the direction of Stuttgart, which caused two injured and considerable damage to property.

A 57-year-old driver of a Toyota had to leave his vehicle on the multifunctional strip between the junction ludwigsburg-Süd and Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen due to a tire breakdown. While he was waiting for the breakdown service, a 59-year-old treading driver drove unauthorized on the multifunctional strip and collided with the Toyota in which the 57-year-old was trapped.

Thanks to the fire brigade's deployment, the injured person was released from the vehicle and had to be taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The gable steerer suffered minor injuries and was also taken to a hospital for medical care.

Both vehicles were no longer ready to drive after the accident and had to be towed. The property damage incurred amounts to around 70,000 euros. The multifunctional strip and two lanes had to be blocked for around four hours to recording and clean the road, which led to traffic disabilities.

It shows again how important it is to adhere to the traffic rules and drive carefully to avoid such accidents. The accident participants and their families are burdened both physically and emotionally, which underlines the need for a secure driving style.
