Bicycle climate test in Lübeck: Your opinion counts until the end of November!
in Lübeck, cyclists now have the opportunity to coordinate their experiences with the conditions for cyclists in their city. The ADFC (General German Bicycle Club) invites citizens to take part in the annual survey on the bicycle climate from September 1 to November 30, 2024. Interested parties can submit their opinions on the cycling conditions and their changes in the past two years via the website www.bahrradklima-tadfc.de.
With 27 constant questions, the bicycle climate test deals with various aspects of bicycle friendliness on site. The project has proven to be extremely popular in recent years, with a remarkable participation of Lübeck cyclists. In 2022, around 240,000 people took part in the survey, which was carried out in more than 1,100 cities. Lübeck's rank in this comparison was stable over the years, but in the last two environmental reports there was a worrying trend.
downward trend in the evaluation
A drastic deterioration of the ratings in 2020 was particularly striking when Lübeck slipped into a "relegation zone". In the last rating 2022, the number of points remained almost unchanged and confirmed the previous negative development. While above -average grades were awarded during the interdisciplinary use of bicycle, Lübeck cut off much worse in other areas such as the quality of the cycle path interfaces and the integration of bicycles in public transport. Here the city is at least one whole school grade behind comparable cities.
An essential part of this year's test focuses on the cooperation in road traffic. The aim is to identify exemplary cities that pursue innovative concepts so that other cities can learn from these learning and their own cycling conditions. The continuous survey over the years makes it possible to recognize progress or setbacks in the city's bicycle climate and to develop strategies for improvement.
survey procedure and data protection
Participation in the survey takes place via a newly designed, data protection -friendly process. The email address is queried at the beginning. A link is sent to this address via which the questionnaire can be called up. This procedure aims to avoid multi -deficiency; However, the email addresses are not saved.
The ADFC bicycle climate test takes place for the eleventh time and is the largest survey on this topic worldwide. The test is funded by the Federal Ministry of Digital and Transport, and the results of this year's survey are to be published in spring 2025. Lübeck cyclists are called to raise their critical voices and thus actively contribute to improving the wheel climate in their city.
