The foundation of the Mois-Halenza Foundation not only represents an important step for the University of Lübeck and the University Hospital Schleswig-Holstein (UKSH), but also contributes to strengthening the research landscape in the Hanseatic city of Lübeck. The initiative is managed under the sponsorship of a citizens' initiative that is committed to promoting science and research.
promotion of reproductive medicine and rare diseases
With a foundation's asset of 100,000 euros, the Mois-Halenza Foundation focuses on the support of reproductive medicine and research into rare diseases. This is particularly relevant because reproductive medicine has gained importance in recent years and supports many people responsibly in founding families.
Prof. Georg Griesinger, the medical director of the university fertility centers in Lübeck and Manhagen, emphasized the importance of this medical discipline. In the presence of the founder Irmgard Halenza, he thanked her for her valuable support and the positive effect that the foundation could have on the science landscape.
strengthening the community through foundations
The importance of the Mois-Halenza Foundation extends beyond financial support. Prof. Thomas Münte, the Vice President of the University of Lübeck, emphasized that the foundation not only reflects the traditional foundation culture of the Hanseatic city, but is also a sign of trust in the quality of research at the university. This type of commitment promotes citizenship and offers an incentive for further philanthropic initiatives that are advantageous for the community.
In addition, Prof. Jens Scholz, CEO of the UKSH, expressed his gratitude for the commitment of the Halenza couple and emphasized how crucial their support for the further development of university medicine was.
a call for imitation
Prof. Karl Klotz, director of the non-profit, joined the positive statements and described the Mois-Halenza Foundation as a "enabled" for the connection between civil society, top research and high-performance medicine. He explained that the foundation should have a role model for other citizens and organizations as the latest contribution to the city's foundation landscape.
The foundation of this foundation is a glimmer of hope for the medical community and could be the beginning of a sustainable commitment to improve health care in Lübeck. It shows how private individuals can take significant influence on the development of science and the quality of life in their city.
