Elbe-Action-Day: Police suspect over 20 violations in the biosphere reserve

In the protected area of the Lower Saxony ElbeTalaue, police controls have played an important role in nature conservation. The second "Elbe Action Day" was organized by the police inspection in cooperation with the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. This day of action illustrates the common responsibility to ensure the protection regulations in the biosphere reserve and to preserve nature for future generations.

A variety of emergency services coordinate their efforts

Various police forces took part in the campaign, including the local police and the Scharnebeck water protection police. In addition, four riders of the Lower Saxony riding squadrons were on site to control compliance with the nature conservation and shipping law regulations together with the rangers. The most common violations included driving JetSkis outside the permitted areas and water skiing in non -marked areas.

The riders from Hanover and Braunschweig will remain in action by the end of August and work on the sensitization of visitors to the importance of nature conservation.
