Protests against concrete mixing work: Entrepreneur Manzke fights for approval
Entrepreneur Felix Manzke is determined behind his plans for a modern concrete mixer in a commercial area near the highway and the old B4, despite considerable civil protests. Opponents, led by the Pro Papenburg Citizens' Initiative, express concerns about noise, dirt and increased traffic volume, especially near the school route on Bernsteinstrasse. Manzke and his technical manager, Hendrik Hilmer, have assured that the new system uses a closed system, minimizes dust emissions and halved the water consumption. With this technology you want to ensure that the new mixing plant works more environmentally friendly than the existing systems in the region.
Despite the resistance, Manzke and his team have already communicated with the Lüneburg town hall and the policy of the Samtgemeinde Bardowick and submitted a building application according to § 35 for the outdoor area. According to Manzke, only around 10 percent of the trucks could go to Bardowick, while most are guided via the heavily frequented old B4. The traffic load during the construction period could also be reduced by the efficient location of the mixing plant. An expert opinion is available that has already been used for previous procedures. In view of the current challenges in the construction industry, Manzke emphasizes how important such projects are in order to secure the economic stability of his company and to maintain jobs, reports www.lueneburgaktuell.de .
