Luther tower: A symbol of reconciliation in Magdeburg's history!

Magdeburg, Deutschland - In the heart of Magdeburg, the story comes to life! The Luther tower, once part of the Augustinian monastery, is finally evident after years of destruction and neglect. During the construction work for the new Premonstratensian monastery, impressive remains of the wall and even a chamber over a thousand year old have been discovered. Father Clemens reports that the tower has survived numerous destruction over the centuries, including five wall reinforcements that indicate the repeated wounds of war

The remains of the tower are not yet accessible because the construction work is still underway. One goal is to integrate the Luther tower into the city tours. Father Clemens expresses hope for creative uses that could also include financing. A fascinating idea would be to extend the series of towers on the city wall again, even if this does not have to be historically true to the original. The Luther tower could thus become a symbol of reconciliation, as part of the project "Ecumenical Höfe Magdeburg", which brings together different faith communities.
