Tire space on the A63: truck ensures hours of closure!

On October 1, 2024, a 28-year-old truck driver on the BAB63 towards Kaiserslautern came into trouble when a tire burst in the curve area of the Saulheim exit. The incident occurred around 2:40 p.m. and led to the twin tires of the rear axle loosened. The truck slid over about 100 meters on the wheel suspension, which caused a 1 cm lower crack in the asphalt. Fortunately, other vehicles remained undamaged, while one of the tires was found about 30 meters away in the green strip.

The junction was completely closed to rescue work and cleaning measures by 9 p.m., which paralyzed traffic over 3.5 hours. In the event of a subsequent check, several violations of the driver were found in relation to steering and rest periods as well as rights of approval, which, however, had no connection with the accident.
