Financial worries: Mütze e.V. is fighting for the future of his daycare center
The Mothers and Family Center Mütze in Ingelheim is faced with a dramatic situation: the non-profit association, which has existed since 1996 and does vital support for families and important youth work, is faced with an annual financing hole of 150,000 euros. This could result in the sudden end of the services offered, which would not only be a setback for the 50 children who are looked after there, but also for the 30 employees and 80 volunteers, some of whom have been active for years.
The hat offers a mixture of daycare and after -school care and plays an essential role in the community. The requirements and guidelines for daycare centers in Rhineland-Palatinate have changed, but the problem remains: How much money from the district of Mainz-Bingen, as a responsible organization, is available to every association is unclear. The authorities agree that the district is responsible for the financing, but the exact amount of the grants presents the participants for challenges.
financing problems and lack of support
A central problem is that the Mainz-Bingen district finances the staff for the facilities, but the additional costs are not covered. Angela Sgro, the head of the hat, clearly mentioned this: "The relatively low support is not enough to maintain the operation." Constant expenses such as electricity, water and costs for the administration, which are decisive for the daily survival of the center, are not taken into account.
In addition, the city of Ingelheim has previously provided financial aid to ensure the compatibility of daycare and after -school care. However, it is uncertain whether the city will continue to step in because the association is suing the district. He strives for a "full financial resources". A similar case in North Rhine-Westphalia could give hope to the hat, because there have gained freelancers similar complaints.
The upcoming challenges
A court date in November could be crucial for the future of the hat. Until then, there is little time to find a solution. Angela Sgro warns: "If we do not find a solution, we have to issue dismissals by the end of September. The money is only enough until the end of December." This would not only be a loss for families, but also for the committed employees whose jobs are on the brink.
The government reactions are mixed. According to the spokesman for the district administration of Mainz-Bingen, Bardo Faust, an adaptation of the means is complicated: "We all have to treat the same and can no longer give you." The tense financial situation of the municipalities increases the pressure because many freelancers hope for similar state support.
an appeal to the community
The community itself does not remain idle. On the weekend, parents and employees are invited to meetings to find out more about the state of affairs. Political representatives should also be involved in mobilizing support for the hat. At a time when the need for high -quality childcare increases, many fear for the future of their children, who rely on the valuable support from the hat.
