Karoline-Stern-Platz: New tattoo studio 'Shadow Side' will soon open

A new tattoo studio, called "Shadow Side", is opened at the newly designed Karoline-Stern-Platz in the Neustadt Mainz. The opening is planned for autumn and promises to bring a fresh wind to the local business landscape. In addition to the tattoo studio, various retailers and restaurants have already moved in, which makes the place a lively meeting point.

part of the growing new town

The operators of the new studio, Stefan Funk (46), Max Ndertsersheuser (32) and Alexander Lieder (37), are experienced tattoo artists who have already operated a studio in the middle pale in the past. "The new town has become really nice in recent years," explains Funk. This growth and development of the area motivated you to look around for larger premises. The bright, inviting rooms on Karoline-Stern-Platz seemed ideal for their project.

Individual art instead of mass goods

With their new tattoo studio, the owners want to send a clear message: "We are not a shop that does everything," explains Funk. Each tattoo is designed individually, without catalogs or prefabricated templates. This personal approach enables customers to bring in their own ideas and wishes, which leads to unique works of art. The owners firmly believe that they can only stand behind the tattoos that they themselves make for their customers.

The way to the tattoo artist

The three creative minds have already made a name for themselves in the tattoo world, even if there is no official training in this area in Germany. "All three of us have learned in the industry for three years and developed their own style," says NDERSSHEUSER. Funk emphasizes that at the beginning you often try out many different styles, but a specialization takes place over time. Your specialist areas include Black Work, Line Work, Black and Gray Realistic Tattoos and even portrait art.

tattooing as a art of living

A major philosophy of the studio owners is that tattoos are not only body art, but also tell stories. Funk shares his view that the body changes in the course of life and that tattoos reflect certain phases of life. "We don't regret most of the tattoos we have. They accompany us and remind us of special moments," says Neckersheuser.

outlook in the future

The tattoo studio "Shadow Side" also plans to expand the services by integrating a piercer. However, this is only done if the right candidate is found. "We are looking for someone who is really behind it and has a passion for his work," emphasizes Funk, while the studio facility is already in full swing.

The upcoming opening of the tattoo studio "Shadow Side" will not only be an exciting step for the operators, but also for the entire neighborhood, which is looking forward to a new chapter in the Neustadt in Mainz. A room that stands not only for art, but also a place of exchange and a new contact point for the local community.
