Huge fire in Fechenheim: warehouse is on fire!

On the night of October 15, 2024, a devastating fire broke out in a warehouse in the Fechenheim district, Frankfurt am Main at around 9:00 p.m. According to numerous emergency calls, the fire brigade raced to the site, where meter -high flames slapped out of the roof and a massive cloud of smoke rose to the night sky. The emergency services immediately started the extinguishing work and alarmed additional units.

The fire spread quickly and led to a partial collapse of the hall. In order to prevent further damage, the firefighters focused on protecting the non -affected part of the 6400 square meter hall. Large amounts of water were removed from the Main and led over several water cannons on the flames. The use of extinguishing foam was then used to finally suffocate the flames. Despite the considerable smoke development and odor nuisance in the urban area, the population was informed by warning app. Fire brigade measurement vehicles carried out pollutant measurements, but the safety of the citizens remained guaranteed at all times. The extinguishing work is expected to continue all night, while the cause of the fire is previously unknown. Further details can be found in a recent report by byc-news.de
