After a fatal accident in Budenheim, onlookers disturb the rescue workers

A dramatic incident shaked the idyll near Budenheim on Sunday morning! A 74-year-old cyclist was fatally injured in a terrible accident when a VW polo caught him. The scene of the event: a commercial area, not far behind Budenheim (Mainz-Bingen district), where the tragedy started. The cyclist died on the spot - a bitter message that not only keeps the local community, but also the emergency services in suspense.

But instead of giving the helpers calm, the situation was massively disturbed by the onlookers! Incredible, but true: Despite the hideous circumstances, excited drivers and curious garden owners who couldn't leave it gathered to watch a bloody accident. A shocking example of the gaffer culture that always comes up with such tragedies.

traffic jam by onlooking - police warn!

around 10 a.m., on a Sunday morning without rush hour, the gaffers set off. Slow drivers who tried to spy behind a privacy wall ensured an unbearable traffic jam. "This behavior also surprises experienced police officers," confirms police spokesman Rinaldo Roberto. Even simple questions like "Why don't we come to our allotment gardens?" the officials had to answer the waiting drivers - an additional burden for the emergency services who should actually be busy with the accident and the care of those affected.

And that's not all! A driver had the cheek to simply drive into the barrier, with the flimsy reason, he wanted to go to his allotment garden. This could have fatal consequences: it is examined whether he has destroyed important traces of the accident. Such a close behavior not only brings the law enforcement officers, but also the judicial consequences.

Understand the gaffer culture

sharp criticism not only comes from the police, but also from psychologist Marisa Przyrembel. Gaffe may be a human instinct, but it is more dangerous! The Duden defines it as "confused, curious or sensational lust". But what the gaffers really do in such a situation is to bother the rescue workers and disregard the personality rights of those affected. They can actually hinder the use and thus cause unnecessarily suffering.

The police warn and ask: Looking is not prohibited, but gaffons are very comfortable! In this case, it is important to respect the need of others and leave their jobs to the helpers. The tragedy near Budenheim should be an apprenticeship for everyone.
