Stand: 31.07.2024, 21:51 p.m.
The ongoing renovation work at the sports university in Frankfurt, which is realized with a budget of 13.8 million euros, have far-reaching effects on the students and the entire university community. Despite the construction sites and the temporary restrictions in sports operations, the university remains optimistic and sees restructuring as an opportunity to improve. With the renovation work, not only the visual impression of the sports university is improved. The outdated in -house facilities from 1971 are to be replaced by modern, energy -efficient systems. This includes the installation of new ventilation systems that are only activated if necessary, as well as a complete renewal of the drinking water pipes. The goal is to adapt the facilities to today's standards and at the same time reduce the environmental impact. Although the renovation measures progress, the students have to temporarily restrict themselves. The changing rooms were shifted to containers and access to certain sports facilities is only possible to a limited extent. Nevertheless, the most important sports offers continue as usual, which shows how adaptability and resource use in sports education are further promoted. The sports hall, the heart of the facility, remains untouched for the time being and continues to offer space for training and competitions. The sports university has a long tradition and has produced many prominent athletes, including Jürgen Klopp, who once took off his exam here. The renovation not only aims to increase the quality of teaching and sports, but also strengthens the position of the university as a leading institution in sports science. The extensive renovation is expected to be completed by the end of next year. With the creation of new premises and improved access options, the university will offer a contemporary campus that not only meets the needs of sports students, but also benefits all other students from the Goethe University and Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences.
The construction work stands for a change in sporting training in Frankfurt and show how important it is to modernize existing facilities regularly. Students and employees find the current situation challenging, but the anticipation for future improvements is noticeable. The sports university is more than just a place to train; It is a central part of the quality of life for many students in Frankfurt. With the renovation, a further step towards a sustainable and performance -promoting environment is done. - Nag Refurbishment brings new opportunities for students
