Mannheim in fear: second women's murder discovered within one month!

In a shocking incident, the body of a 51-year-old woman near the racecourse in Mannheim-Friedrichsfeld was discovered on Monday morning. The find was made by the police at around 8:20 a.m., which has initiated a murder examination. "Initial investigations indicate that it could be a capital crime," said police spokeswoman Yvonne Schäfer. Details on the murder remain unclear for the time being, since the police did not announce how the woman was killed.

It is particularly alarming that this murder took place just four weeks after the fatal assault on a 36-year-old jogger in a forest north of Mannheim. Both crime scenes are only about 20 kilometers apart. The criminal police have set up a special commission called "Soko Ramus" to examine the two cases because the circumstances are strikingly similar. Schäfer only says about the investigation: "The circumstances of the crime have so far been completely unclear." The police interviewed witnesses and secured traces, while the background of these brutal deeds remain in the dark. Further information on the case is in an article at m.bild.de to be found.
