Burning car on BAB 19: search for perpetrators is running!

on October 5, 2024, around 9:25 p.m., the police alerted a car already in flames at the exit of the BAB 19, junction Rostock-Ost. Despite the rapid intervention of the Rostock professional fire brigade, the vehicle, a Volkswagen, was completely destroyed. Fortunately, there were no people in the car.

The investigation showed that the car was in search and the license plates had been stolen by a Hyundai. The perpetrators escaped undetected, while the cause of the fire remains unclear. The use of the fire brigade and the necessary cleaning work led to a full and partial closure of the exit until around 00:30. The criminal police have now started investigations into forgery of documents, theft of license plates and embezzlement. The damage incurred amounts to around 8,000 euros.
