in Wolgast, a dramatic police operation occurred in the night of October 3 when a white van overtook several vehicles rapidly and without light. Witnesses alerted the police, while the driver raced with speeds of up to 180 km/h over the B111 and B109 towards Greifswald and got oncoming several times. The PHR Greifswald police were able to stop the vehicle a little later.

The 24-year-old driver, without a valid driver's license, was under the influence of drugs and had a breath alcohol value of 1.32 per thousand. He also used the van unauthorized. After his police control, a blood sample was taken from the Greifswald University Hospital. The B109 had to be closed for around 30 minutes. Several investigations were initiated against the driver, including for illegal races and drunkenness at the wheel.
