Witnesses alerted the police, while the driver raced with speeds of up to 180 km/h over the B111 and B109 towards Greifswald and got oncoming several times. The PHR Greifswald police were able to stop the vehicle a little later.

The 24-year-old driver, without a valid driver's license, was under the influence of drugs and had a breath alcohol value of 1.32 per thousand. He also used the van unauthorized.
