Tealight attack: Fire in Neustrelitz evacuates whole house!

In the night of September 30, 2024, a fire broke out in an apartment building on the market in Neustrelitz around 01:50. In the attic of a house, the fire ignited in the bathroom of the apartment of a 35-year-old tenant. Due to the dense smoke development, all residents had to be evacuated quickly. The Neustrelitz volunteer fire brigade was quickly on hand and was able to delete flames quickly, which prevented the fire from spreading further.

First investigations indicate that a forgotten tealight was the cause of the accident. Fortunately, no people were injured, but the affected apartment is uninhabitable, and an adjacent apartment was also badly affected. The entire property damage amounts to around 15,000 euros.
