Tragic accident in Waren: car driver dies after collision with lantern

On Thursday, September 26, 2024, a tragic traffic accident occurred in Waren/Müritz. Around 3:15 p.m., a 59-year-old driver of a Honda car lost control of his vehicle, racing off the street, raced against a street lamp and a fence for unexplained reasons. Despite immediate medical measures, the man could not be saved and died at the scene of the accident.

The shooting street, which is also the access to the cemetery, had to be closed for 2.5 hours for the duration of the accident. The vehicle that is no longer ready to drive was recovered by a towing company. The volunteer fire brigade was on site with 15 emergency services and four vehicles. The material damage is currently estimated at around 3,000 euros.
