Fatal frontal collision on the B105: Motorists overhauled van

yesterday evening, a devastating traffic accident occurred on the federal road 105, in which a 69-year-old driver tragically lost his life. The incident between the villages Reinberg and Brandshagen in the district of Vorpommern-Rügen has shaken the local community deeply.

The accident was triggered when the driver of the car tried to overtake a van and overlooked another vehicle in oncoming traffic. This led to a frontal collision, in which both vehicles were badly damaged and the 69-year-old driver of the overtaking car suffered serious injuries.

Immediately after the collision, the injured driver was taken to the hospital, but he succumbed to his serious injuries there. The 56-year-old driver of the other car involved was also seriously injured and had to be taken care of.

The police blocked the B105 for about three hours to secure the scene of the accident and to investigate the cause of the accident. The tragic incident illustrates the life -threatening risks of risky overtaking maneuvers on heavily used roads and calls for increased caution and consideration in road traffic.
