In the round of 16 of the Toto Cup competition, there was a dramatic duel between FC Memmingen from the Bayernliga South and third division club TSV 1860 Munich last weekend. BFV President Christoph Kern also commented on the exciting course of the game and congratulated both teams on their performance. "This is what we want in the Toto Cup-games on the knife cutting. Memmingen became more courageous after the break and rewarded himself with the late balance. But then sixty sets the final point and secured the quarter-finals," he said.
In another game of the round of 16, FC Ingolstadt 04, the reigning Toto Cup champion, successfully defended its title and won 3: 1 (1-0) against the Würzburg Kickers. The game took place in front of around 1000 spectators, and Tim Heike, Simon Testroet and Felix Keidel scored the goals, while Maximilian Dieter Feser scored in the final phase for the Kickers. Ingolstadt has made the leap into the round of the last eight teams again.
The previous quarter -finalists also include the regional league team FC Eintracht Bamberg, 1. FC Schweinfurt 05, Türkgücü Munich, DJK Vilzing and FV Illertissen. In particular, the DJK Vilzing impressed with a clear 3-0 victory against SC Eltersdorf, with Lukas Dotzler twice and Paul Grauschopf once hit the net for the Upper Palatinate.
