Citizens' dialogue in Mettmann: Future of the train between Wuppertal and Kaarst!
Mettmann, Deutschland - On Wednesday, November 6th, a citizens' dialogue for electrification of the railway line between Wuppertal and Kaarst takes place in Mettmann. From 6.30 p.m., interested citizens in the town hall can find out which measures are due in the coming months and what impairments are to be expected during the construction work. The city of Mettmann announced that the trains of the Regiobahn will drive in two years, which is a significant change in the timetable.
The conversion of the 48 -kilometer route started in July at the Kaarster See stop. As part of the construction work, a total of 730 overhead line masts are built, both in the ram and drilling process as well as conventionally with block and level foundations. These comprehensive work are part of a larger plan to modernize the rail network, which will significantly shape the future of rail traffic in the region. Further information on the details of the project are in the current report on rp-online.de to be found.
