New classrooms in modular construction: Mettmann's schools are expanding

increasing shortage of space at Mettmann's schools and innovative solutions

In Mettmann, the city administration takes measures to improve the room situation at several schools. With the impressive use of modular construction, new classrooms are created, which are intended to significantly improve the learning environment of the students. This initiative is not just a short -term solution, but part of a more comprehensive master plan to create more space in the city's educational institutions.

Promotion of school education through temporary solutions

For many students, the first day of school after the summer holidays will be an exciting experience. New rooms will be available at the Otfried Preussler School (OPS), the Catholic primary school and the Heinrich Heine-Gymnasium, which were assembled during the summer break. Thanks to these ad hoc measures, the schools create urgently needed retreats for the lessons and additional multi-purpose rooms.

major projects are coming to an end

The delivery of 28 module construction units at the Otfried Prussler School is particularly impressive. These were led over the existing sports hall with a large car crane and are now set up on two floors. The interior of the new classroom is already complete, including all necessary facilities. In order to ensure the transport routes for the heavy modules, construction work on Goethe- und Düsseldorfer Straße was temporarily stopped.

insight into the structural developments

The Catholic primary school on Neandrasse also benefits from a newly built two -storey building with a cafeteria, several classrooms and differentiation areas. Also under construction is an interim for the Heinrich Heine-Gymnasium, which enables the creation of six new classrooms. In addition, a new cafeteria will be set up at the Gründschule Gründschule, which should also be available for the open all -day school during the school holidays.

The role of the city administration

Mechthild Klöcker, architect and project manager in the urban building department, commented positively about the previous course of the work. "Toi, toi, toi ... everything has been going according to plan so far," explains Klöcker and emphasizes how important it is that the new premises are available in good time in order to meet the needs of the students.

outlook on the future of school education in Mettmann

The current measures illustrate how Proactive Mettmann's city administration reacts to school development needs. These structural improvements are not only relevant for the immediate learning environment, but also a sign of engagement for the quality of education in the region. Investments in the school infrastructure are essential to create positive learning conditions and to support the further development of the pupils.

In the end it shows that through innovative approaches and forward -looking planning, the challenges of the shortage of space in Mettmann can be addressed, which benefits both the school community and the entire city community.
