Raser camp in the Rheinisch-Bergisches Kreis: Police controls reveal speed violations

a focus on traffic safety in the Rheinisch-Bergisches Kreis

The traffic service of the Rheinisch-Bergischer Kreis police carried out comprehensive speed controls on July 28, 2024 to increase traffic safety in the region. This measure takes place in a context in which traffic safety is becoming increasingly important, especially in rural areas.

Various violations in several districts

The controls that took place between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. were registered a total of 20 speed overruns. The affected towns include Wermelskirchen, where the police met six cars and seven motorcycles at an excessive speed, as well as Odenthal (three violations) and Kürten (a violation). It was particularly striking a cyclist from Cologne, who drove through a control on Dürchtalstrasse at 117 km/h, although only 50 km/h are allowed there. These systematic controls illustrate the importance of complying with the speed limits in road traffic.

measurements and their effects

on Dürchtalstraße in Kürten also took place in stationary radar controls, which made a total of 362 road users. Ten of them have to expect a driving ban. In the overall traffic offense recorded, 16 administrative offenses were expelled, while in four cases the drivers on site were imposed on site. These measures show that the police are actively working on raising awareness of speed over the speed and sanctioning unreasonable driving behavior.

social relevance

The importance of these speed controls cannot be assessed high enough. They are a crucial part of the strategy to improve traffic safety in the Rheinisch-Bergische Kreis and reflect a broader, social movement that focuses on reducing traffic accidents and injuries. Especially in more rural regions, where higher speeds are often driven, it is important that the police carry out such controls regularly.

committed police work for more security

The initiative to increase traffic safety through speed controls is a clear appeal to road users to drive more responsibly. The feedback from the police published in the press serves not only as information, but also as a warning to drivers who may be the profile for inappropriate pace and irresponsible behavior. After all, a safe street environment is in the interests of all citizens.
