CSU when changing the district administrator: Schnitzenbaumer wants to know!
Schliersee, Deutschland - District Administrator Olaf von Löwis will not run for another term. He announced this to the extended CSU district board on Tuesday evening. After six years in office, at the time of the local elections in March 2026, the 69-year-old district administrator resigned, with which the CSU proposes the long-time Mayor of Schlierse Franz Schnitzenbaumer as the successor. Schnitzenbaumer, who has been mayor since 2006, has not made the decision to move into the election campaign, but sees the challenge as attractive.
CSU district chairman Alexander Radwan underlined that the choice for Schnitzenbaumer will not be an easy way, but he believes in his passion and commitment to the task. The CSU members and town hall employees have already been informed about the personnel. While both politicians do not expect a big discussion within the party, the final decision on the nomination is imminent for the delegates of the district associations. The nominations for local elections are possible from December 1, 2025, and a precise date for the nomination assembly is still pending.
