Vechelde Citizens' Center: New Hall opens after extensive renovation

Vechelde. After many months of waiting, the joy is great: the hall in the community center of Vechelde is open to the population again. This significant event is of particular importance for the local community, since many events and meetings had to be made during the long closing time or moved to other premises.

The hall had to be closed for almost a year due to extensive renovation work. The municipality of Vechelde recognized the need to renovate the hall with great care after it has been found that the false ceiling was sagged. Community spokesman Felix J. Scholz said that the hall was out of operation from September of last year until the end of August, which was a major problem for clubs and organizations, since they often had no alternative venues. "Many important meetings and events therefore had to fail or were shifted to unsuitable places," continued Scholz.

conversion work and modernization

The municipal managers carried out extensive work in order to make the hall usable again. In addition to the renovation of the ceiling, the electrics and the lighting were also renewed. In addition, the installation of a projector and a loudspeaker system was planned to meet the technical requirements of modern events. The total costs for these repair measures amount to around 200,000 euros.

With the completion of the renovation work, the hall is now not only visually appealing, but also functionally better equipped. "We also initiated the planning for new partitions and the exchange of the window front," announced Scholz. The community center will continue to serve as a central point for municipal activities and social gatherings.

The history of the Citizens' Center

The community center has a long history: it used to be the district court of Vechelde until the community acquired the building in 1974. Since the inauguration in 1977, the house has served as a community center, which has developed into an important place for the community. At this location there was originally the Vecheld Castle, which was demolished in 1819. Duke Rudolf August had it converted into a baroque pleasure palace, which underlines the cultural meaning of the place.

The reopening of the hall is therefore not only a return to the usual events, but also a constant connection to the rich history of the citizens' center. This shows how important it is to preserve such historical sites and make it modern at the same time. Many citizens are now offered a place where they exchange ideas, visit events and be able to actively shape community life.

With the reopening of the hall in the community center, the members of clubs and organizations are easier, which now have a familiar place for their meetings. This return may help promote new activities and to further strengthen social interaction in Vechelde.

Important news and developments from the Region will continue to focus in the future, and the municipality of Vechelde will endeavor to offer its citizens a livable and active environment.
