Stone throwing attack on Greens: Problem for attackers in Neu-Ulm

A 45-year-old man was sentenced to a probation penalty of one year and four months after threw a stone in the direction of the Green politician Ludwig Hartmann and Katharina Schulze during an election campaign event in September 2023. Fortunately, the politicians and a signatinal interpreter remained unharmed. The defendant confessed to the crime and described it as the "greatest mistake of his life".

In addition to the suspended sentence, the man has to do 200 hours of non-profit work and donate more than 1,000 euros to the Diakonisches Werk Neu-Ulm. The Munich public prosecutor had charged him with attempted dangerous bodily harm and resistance to enforcement officers. The process began under high security precautions, since the accused of the Reich Citizens' and Querd thinker scene is assigned, which resulted in a tense climate in the courtroom. The security measures were hardened by the fact that Schulze was invited as a witness.
