Altentreptow: No residential area in sight - land sales stopped
In Altentreptow, there was a surprising turning point in relation to a planned residential project. Mayor Claudia Ellgoth announced that the sale of a property at Unterbaustraße 25 to 28 cannot be continued as originally planned. Instead, the sales process is reversed, which means that the property goes back to the property of the city.
Originally the current owner, who bought the approximately 850 square meter area from the city in 2022, had large-scale construction plans for two-storey residential buildings. The preparations seemed to be promising, but it turned out that the realization of the plans did not meet the expectations of the investor.
Online sales and legal obligations
In August there was a strange situation: the property was surprisingly offered on an online platform for sale, including the basic building report, for a price of 45,000 euros. This campaign caused the city administration to immediately contact the owner in order to remind him of his contractual obligations. When signing the contract, the owner had assured that the construction work started within three years. If he does not meet this time frame, the property would fall back to the city.
After reporting by the Nordkurier, the online offer was finally deleted within a few days. This is a clear indication that the owner was aware of the regulations and the city has asserted its claims.
Future perspectives for Altentreptow
Currently, the city administration is looking for new interested parties who are willing to close the existing building gap in the inner city area. "It is a shame that it didn't work out, but that cannot be changed," said Mayor Ellgoth. The city hopes that someone will soon find out and implement the plans. The development of the property remains an exciting topic for the future design of the cityscape and the creation of additional living space.
