Burglary wave in Mecklenburg: How to protect your home!
Burglary wave in Mecklenburg: How to protect your home!
In the dark season, burglaries in residential buildings increase alarming. Especially single -family houses are particularly targeted by criminals who often spy on whether the residents are absent, for example during vacation or at work. The police in Neubrandenburg warned that burglars can receive information about absences through social media. In a specific example, jewelry and cash worth around 1,000 euros were stolen in the Neustrelitz area in Emil-Kraepelin-Straße, while a family home in Bad Kleinen suffered damage in the five-digit range.
The worrying incidents also includes an assault in which a woman was injured in Broderstorf when she surprised the burglars. These fled after they had stolen cash and jewelry worth around 5,300 euros. Social institutions are also affected: in a day care center of the ASB in Neubrandenburg there were break -ins with total damage of around 2,000 euros. The clearance rate for burglaries remains low - only 21 out of 120 cases could be clarified in Rostock, and in Neubrandenburg it was only 15 out of 42. The police recommended to take preventive measures, such as alarm systems and good neighborhood communication to burglisher.
