Neubrandenburg Rugby Beach Cup: Rain does not stop coach Sachse!

With an exciting sporting event, the Rugby scene in Neubrandenburg took a further step into the public last weekend. The SV Turbine Neubrandenburg not only celebrated its own premiere at the first Rugby beach cup on Brodaer Strand, but also demonstrated the connection and enthusiasm for rugby sport in the region.

A festival for rugby in the region

Despite adverse weather conditions-the sky opened its locks and caused rain-coach Achim Sachse and his team was able to create an impressive atmosphere. "It was a great experience and we are very proud that we were able to organize our first own tournament in the sand," emphasized Sachse. This is already the third rugby event that the Neubrandenburgers organized this year after they had previously successfully organized tournaments in the hall and outdoors.

Gripping competitions and new contacts

Five teams competed against each other, whereby the team from BSC Berlin was able to secure first place, followed by the Oranien Raptors from Oranienburg. "All teams delivered gripping duels, and it was a lot of fun for everyone," reported Sachse. The event not only offered exciting matches, but also produced new connections and invitations to further tournaments. "We made a lot of new contacts and it definitely goes on," added the trainer.

Challenges and visions for the future

Although the weather was not optimal, the participants and spectators remained optimistic. "A bit of a shame that we lacked the walk -in customers who could have looked at our sport," admitted Sachse. Nevertheless, the team will look at the next beach cup in the coming year and hopes that the weather conditions will be better. "This way we can inspire more people for our sport," said Sachse with a broad grin.

Rugby engagement in the Community

The successful implementation of the beach cup shows the increased interest and commitment to rugby in Neubrandenburg. Such tournaments grow awareness of the sport and the community is brought together closer. "It is important that we organize events that are accessible to everyone and promote rugby sport," said Sachse. This development could help in the long term that rugby in the region continues to establish itself and inspire many young people.
